There is something for everyone at our annual Winter Kite Festival; warm up by the fire pit, take a trip around the park on a horse drawn sleigh ride (snow permitting), enjoy a yummy hot chocolate with our friends from Changing Tides, and join in on the fun with a morning kite making lesson.
Come to one of two kite making lessons in the morning at 10:00AM(Ages 9+ with adult) or 11:15AM(Ages 2+ with adult) . Located at the Bresnahan Cafeteria, each kite kit is $5. Register in advance on the NYS website.

Then fly the kites in the afternoon at Maudslay State Park. Newburyport Youth Services hosts this wonderful event for the second year. Members of KONE – Kites Over New England (Un-official) will be there along with others flying larger kites so it will be a nice day to experience the joy of kites from simple to sophisticated. Blue Hill Meteorological Observatory will have a small educational exhibit and will also be selling kites for those who couldn’t make the workshop or want to add to their collection.
